Key Specs to Check Before Buying
-
Match Size to Player Age
Select the drum shell diameter based on the player's height and age. The 16-inch model suits young children who need a smaller footprint. It measures 17.7 inches wide and 15.8 inches high. The 22-inch full-size kit is designed for adults. It is wider at 22.8 inches and taller at 22.4 inches. Larger shells provide a more authentic acoustic feel. Choose the smaller size for beginners who are still growing. Pick the larger size for stable, adult use.
-
Check Weight for Stability
Heavier kits generally offer better stability during play. The 16-inch kids set weighs 37.5 pounds. This weight is manageable for moving but stable enough for practice. The 22-inch adult kit weighs 62.8 pounds. The extra mass helps prevent shifting when hitting hard. Consider where you will set up the kit. A heavier frame reduces vibration transfer to the floor. Ensure your floor can support the load. Lighter kits may slide during intense sessions.
-
Verify Included Accessories
Check the package contents before starting. Both listed models include drumsticks. This saves you from buying separate gear immediately. No other accessories are listed in the specs. You may need to purchase a throne or pedals separately. Verify the piece count matches your needs. A five-piece set covers basic kit components. Ensure all necessary parts are in the box. Missing items can delay your setup process.
-
Assess Cymbal Quality
The 16-inch kids set features starter cymbals. These are suitable for learning basic rhythms. They may not offer the same feel as premium pads. The 22-inch adult set uses durable PET heads. This material provides a realistic acoustic response. Consider how often you will play. Starter cymbals are fine for casual use. Durable heads last longer under heavy hitting. Match the cymbal type to your skill level.
-
Plan for Setup Space
Measure your room before purchasing. The 16-inch kit is 21.7 inches long. It fits in smaller spaces or bedrooms. The 22-inch kit is also 22.8 inches long. It requires more floor area for comfortable playing. Consider the width of the frame as well. Ensure you have room for the throne. Leave space around the kit for movement. Proper spacing improves your playing technique and safety.
Frequently asked questions
Are these VEVOR drum sets electronic or acoustic?
These are acoustic drum sets, not electronic kits. The listings describe them as providing a genuine acoustic experience with real bass drums and physical cymbals. They lack the mesh pads, drum modules, and USB connectivity typical of electronic drum sets. You are buying traditional acoustic instruments finished in black.
What is the weight difference between the two models?
The 16-inch kids model weighs 37.5 pounds, while the 22-inch adult model weighs 62.8 pounds. This significant difference reflects the larger shell sizes and more robust hardware in the full-size version. The heavier weight of the adult kit contributes to its stability during play, whereas the lighter kids kit is easier to move.
Do these kits come with drumsticks included?
Yes, both the 16-inch and 22-inch VEVOR drum sets include drumsticks. The product attributes list sticks as included accessories for both models. You do not need to purchase separate sticks to start playing immediately upon unboxing. This inclusion helps you begin practicing right away without additional equipment requirements.
How wide is the 22-inch adult drum set?
The 22-inch full-size drum set measures 22.8 inches in width. This footprint is larger than the 17.7-inch width of the 16-inch kids model. You should ensure you have adequate floor space to accommodate this wider setup. The dimensions help you plan your practice area layout effectively before purchase.
What type of cymbals are included in the 16-inch set?
The 16-inch kids drum set includes starter cymbals. These are typically smaller and designed for younger players or beginners. The specific material or size of the cymbals is not detailed beyond this classification. They provide the necessary components for a complete five-piece acoustic experience for children.
Is there a difference in height between the two kits?
Yes, the 16-inch model stands 15.8 inches high, while the 22-inch model is 22.4 inches high. This height difference accommodates players of different ages and sizes. The taller adult kit offers a more standard playing position, whereas the shorter kids kit is scaled for younger users. Check these heights to ensure comfortable seating.
