Is a blue finish worth it for your drum set?
Blue is a common aesthetic choice across all listed kits, from compact 16-inch models to heavy 22-inch adult sets. The color does not change the sound or playability, which depend on shell material like poplar or brass, and head types such as PET or Remo. You choose blue for visual preference or room decor. The finish appears on beginner kits for children and full-size acoustic-style kits for adults. It is a cosmetic spec that helps the kit match your space.
Worth it if
- You want the drum set to match a blue room theme
- You are buying a kit for a child who prefers blue colors
- You want a standard finish that is widely available across brands
Skip it if
- You prefer a natural wood or black finish for a professional look
- You only care about acoustic tone and ignore visual style
- You are buying for a venue where the drums will be covered or hidden
If you also coordinate outdoor spaces by color, evaluate dimensions and materials across best blue patio furniture sets.
How We Selected Blue Kits
We identified these 11 sets by scanning Amazon listings for the specific color blue. We only included models where the listing title or feature list explicitly states the blue finish. This ensures every kit on the list matches your color requirement. We selected one size or variant for each product family to avoid duplicates.
The ranking prioritizes availability first. Next, we ordered the kits by their overall rating, weighted by the number of ratings. Finally, we considered how many of our core criteria the published specifications met. All details come directly from the listing data. We do not handle the products or test them physically.
Key specs for choosing blue kits
-
Check target audience age
Select a kit based on the player's age group. The VEVOR 5-Piece 16 in Kids Drum Set targets ages 6 to 13. It includes a four-level throne and sticks for young beginners. The NUOSHENG 16 in 5-Piece Kids Drum Set suits younger children aged 2 to 9. Adults should look for full-size models like the Ktaxon 22 in set. Matching the target audience ensures the hardware fits the player correctly.
-
Verify piece count included
Ensure the package contains all five core pieces. Every listed option is a 5-Piece set. This usually includes a snare, two toms, a bass drum, and a floor tom. The AODSK 5-Piece 14" Jr. Drum Set offers a compact footprint for limited spaces. The Ashthorpe 5-Piece Full Size Adult Drum Set provides genuine Remo heads. Confirming the piece count helps you know if you need to buy additional drums separately.
-
Review included accessories
Check if sticks and hardware are in the box. The VEVOR set includes sticks and a four-level throne. The LeSage 16 in 5-Piece Kids Drum Set comes with a pedal and hardware. The Gammon Percussion Full Size 5-Piece Adult Drum Set includes cymbals and stands. The Wiseek 5-Piece 16" Kids Drum Set features PET heads and an adjustable throne. Buying a complete package saves you from purchasing these items separately.
-
Compare physical dimensions
Measure the width, height, and length to fit your space. The VEVOR set measures 17.7 inches wide and 21.7 inches long. The Ktaxon 22 in set is 23 inches square. The Ashthorpe 5-Piece Full Size Adult Drum Set is 29 inches wide and 29 inches long. The AODSK Jr. set is 15 inches wide but 30 inches high. Larger adult sets require more floor space than compact kids' models.
-
Assess total weight

Frequently asked questions
Are all the blue drum sets on this list electronic?
No. The list includes acoustic drum sets with blue finishes, not electronic kits. Several models, such as the Ashthorpe and Gammon Percussion sets, feature poplar shells and Remo or brass cymbals. These are traditional acoustic instruments. The guide title mentions electronic sets, but the actual products listed are acoustic kits designed for visual appeal rather than digital connectivity.
Which blue drum set is best for young children?
The VEVOR 5-Piece 16 in Kids Drum Set is the top pick for children aged 6 to 13. It includes a four-level throne and sticks, providing a complete starting package. The NUOSHENG 16 in model is also suitable for younger beginners aged 2 to 9. Both sets are sized appropriately for small players.
What is the heaviest blue drum set in this list?
The Ashthorpe 5-Piece Full Size Adult Drum Set with brass cymbals is the heaviest option at 95 pounds. Another Ashthorpe model with standard hardware weighs 91 pounds. These full-size adult kits are significantly heavier than the compact 16-inch kids' sets, which typically weigh between 11 and 39 pounds.
Do these blue kits come with cymbals included?
Yes, all listed 5-piece sets include cymbals as part of the package. The VEVOR and NUOSHENG models feature starter cymbals. The Ashthorpe brass model includes brass cymbals. The Gammon Percussion set also provides cymbals along with stands and a throne. You do not need to purchase cymbals separately for these complete packages.
Are there any blue drum sets suitable for adults?
Yes, several full-size 22-inch models are designed for adult players. The Ktaxon 22 in 5-Piece Full-Size Blue Drum Set and the UDeuxff 22 in model are sized for adults. The Ashthorpe and Gammon Percussion sets are also full-size acoustic kits intended for grown-ups who need standard drum dimensions.
What material are the shells made of in these blue kits?
Most kits use poplar wood for the shells. The VEVOR, Ktaxon, Ashthorpe, NUOSHENG, EASTROCK, Wiseek, and UDeuxff sets all specify poplar construction. The Ashthorpe brass model features brass cymbals but retains poplar shells. Poplar is a common material for entry-level acoustic drums due to its balanced sound and durability.
Do I need to assemble these blue drum sets?
Yes, assembly is required for all listed models. The LeSage 16 in set explicitly notes that you must assemble it. Other kits include hardware, stands, and pedals, but you will need to put the components together. The VEVOR and Wiseek sets include all necessary pieces for setup, but manual assembly is expected.
