6 Best Alternatives to the Surundo Virtual Air Drum Set (2026)

How alternatives compare to Surundo

VEVOR 5-Piece 14 in Kids Drum Set

The VEVOR 14-inch Kids Drum Set replaces virtual air drumming with a traditional acoustic foundation. At 26.5 pounds, it is significantly heavier than the Surundo K10, which prioritizes portability. This kit offers a full 5-piece layout, providing the physical resistance and acoustic feedback that air sticks cannot replicate. It is ideal for young beginners who want to learn on a standard drum kit with room to grow. You trade the app integration and quiet practice of the Surundo for the authentic feel and durability of real drums. The black finish and sturdy construction make it a permanent fixture rather than a portable toy.

Umelody UED-60 Compact Kids Electronic Drum Set

The Umelody UED-60 is a compact electronic drum set designed for small spaces and children. Unlike the Surundo K10, which relies on motion tracking, this kit uses physical pads for tactile feedback. It weighs 13.2 pounds and includes a throne and headphones, offering a complete setup for quiet practice. The Umelody connects via USB MIDI and standard MIDI, whereas the Surundo uses Bluetooth for app interaction. This model suits beginners who prefer the resistance of mesh or rubber pads over air gestures. It is a practical starter kit that sacrifices the visual RGB lighting and unique stick design for a more traditional drumming experience.

AiJoy ADD15 4-Pad Electronic Drum Set

The AiJoy ADD15 is a foldable electronic drum set with four pads and a dual-zone mesh snare. It provides 210 sounds and USB connectivity, differing from the Surundo K10 by offering physical drumming surfaces. The AiJoy kit is larger and heavier, focusing on portability through folding rather than the stick-only format of the Surundo. It targets beginners, adults, and kids who want a compact kit with better tactile response. You gain the ability to play real pads and receive USB MIDI data, losing the immersive air drumming and RGB lights. This choice is best for those who need a space-saving electronic kit with more realistic feel than virtual sticks.

ASHATA Portable Virtual Drum Set

The ASHATA Portable Virtual Drum Set is another air drumming option, similar to the Surundo K10 in concept. It features Bluetooth and MIDI connectivity, allowing for app integration and data transmission. The ASHATA sticks target beginners, adults, and students who prioritize quiet, space-saving practice. Unlike the Surundo, which includes a dedicated storage bag and RGB speakers, the ASHATA kit focuses on the sticks and connectivity alone. It offers a unique way to learn drums virtually without physical pads. You choose this if you want a minimalist approach to air drumming with MIDI support, rather than the all-in-one speaker and light package found in the Surundo.

HAMPBACK MK-0 PRO Portable Mesh Electronic Drum Set

The HAMPBACK MK-0 PRO is a portable mesh electronic drum set weighing 38.3 pounds. It offers a complete beginner package with USB MIDI and standard MIDI connectivity. This kit replaces the virtual air drumming of the Surundo K10 with physical mesh pads for realistic feedback. It is designed for beginners and kids who need a space-saving kit that can be stored easily or taken outdoors. You trade the lightweight, stick-only design of the Surundo for a heavier, more traditional electronic drum setup. The HAMPBACK is ideal for players who want the tactile feel of mesh heads and the versatility of MIDI output without the novelty of air gestures.

AODSK Quiet Mesh Electronic Drum Set

The AODSK Quiet Mesh Electronic Drum Set features 450 sounds and mesh pads for tactile feedback. It connects via USB MIDI and standard MIDI, differing from the Surundo K10 by providing a full electronic drum experience. This kit weighs 39.1 pounds and includes low-volume cymbals, offering a more comprehensive setup than the air sticks. It targets beginners and adults who value recording capability and realistic pad response. You gain a large sound library and physical drums, losing the portability and visual appeal of the Surundo. The AODSK is best for those who want a serious starter kit with MIDI integration rather than a novelty air drumming tool.
