You might be considering lekato electronic drum set alternatives if you need a different form factor or pad configuration. The LEKATO CPD-1000 offers a portable design with a double-layered mesh snare and USB MIDI connectivity. It targets beginners with 220+ sounds and a compact footprint that fits on a tabletop or standard snare stand. This setup prioritizes space-saving over a full mesh cymbal experience.
The alternatives listed here were chosen because their specifications overlap with the original. You may want more pads, a different weight, or specific features like choke cymbals. Some options focus on young students with smaller footprints, while others provide complete all-mesh packages. Each selection matches the core need for quiet practice and portability. You can compare these 6 kits to find the right balance of specs for your playing style and available space.
Our top pick: LEKATO CPD-1000 Portable Mesh Electronic Drum Set.
How each alternative compares
Donner DED-70 7-Piece Mesh Electronic Drum Set
The Donner DED-70 shifts focus from portability to a complete, space-saving practice kit. It features dual-layer mesh heads on its four pads, offering a quieter, more natural rebound than the LEKATO’s silicone cymbals. While the LEKATO provides 220+ sounds and three cymbals, the Donner offers 150 sounds across a more integrated layout. You lose the expandable kick input found on the LEKATO, but gain a unified structure suited for young students. This set is ideal if you prioritize a compact, all-in-one mesh experience over the modular flexibility of the LEKATO.
AiJoy ADD50 4-Pad Mesh Electronic Drum Set
The AiJoy ADD50 is a complete, compact kit designed for young players who need a ready-to-play package. It includes essential accessories and offers choke cymbal functionality, which the LEKATO lacks. While the LEKATO is lighter at 14 pounds and focuses on portability, the AiJoy is heavier at 28.7 pounds and larger in footprint. You get a fixed 4-pad configuration here, sacrificing the LEKATO’s three-cymbal setup and expandable kick support. This option suits beginners who want a stable, complete starter kit with expressive cymbal control rather than a travel-focused design.
HAMPBACK MK-0 Mesh Pad Electronic Drum Set
The HAMPBACK MK-0 prioritizes quiet practice and portability above all else. It is a compact entry-level option that sacrifices the extensive sound library of the LEKATO, which offers 220+ sounds and 10 kits. The HAMPBACK focuses on essential functionality for beginners and kids, providing a simpler interface. You give up the double-layered mesh snare and the specific coaching module features of the LEKATO. This set is best for those who need a lightweight, straightforward kit for home or outdoor use without the complexity of multiple kits or advanced connectivity options.
AODSK AED-403 Portable Mesh Electronic Drum Set
The AODSK AED-403 offers a complete, quiet setup with mesh pads, similar in target audience to the LEKATO. However, it is significantly larger and heavier, weighing 28.7 pounds compared to the LEKATO’s 14 pounds. The AODSK provides a more traditional drum set footprint, whereas the LEKATO is designed for tabletop or minimal stand use. You trade the LEKATO’s extreme portability and expandable kick input for a more stable, full-sized practice experience. This kit is better for players who value a complete, stationary setup over a travel-friendly design.
Umelody UED-60 Compact Kids Electronic Drum Set
The Umelody UED-60 is a mini drum set designed for kids and small spaces. It is much smaller than the LEKATO, with a width of only 11.4 inches. The LEKATO offers a 14-inch snare and three cymbals, while the Umelody provides a more compact, simplified layout. You lose the LEKATO’s 220+ sounds and coaching features, but gain a footprint that fits easily into tight areas. This set is ideal for young beginners or households with severe space constraints who need a silent practice tool rather than a full-featured electronic kit.
Donner DED-200 Mesh Electronic Drum Set
The Donner DED-200 is a 5-pad mesh set with a standalone kick tower, offering a more traditional drumming experience. It features 450 sounds, more than double the LEKATO’s 220+ sounds. The DED-200 includes choke cymbals and a complete hardware bundle, whereas the LEKATO requires separate stands and pedals. You sacrifice the LEKATO’s portability and lightweight design for a heavier, more robust setup. This kit suits drummers who want a complete, all-mesh package with expanded sound options and hardware, rather than a compact, travel-oriented solution.

Do these kits include drumsticks in the box?

Which model is best for players who want choke cymbals?
The AiJoy ADD50 and the Donner DED-200 both feature choke cymbals. This feature allows you to stop a cymbal sound by grabbing the edge, mimicking an acoustic kit. These models are ideal if you want more expressive control over your cymbal tones.
How heavy is the heaviest electronic drum set here?
The Donner DED-200 is the heaviest option at 53.6 pounds. Its substantial weight comes from its larger frame and standalone kick tower. This model is less portable than the 14-pound LEKATO CPD-1000 but offers a more stable, traditional drum kit experience.
Can I connect these drums to a computer?
All listed models support USB MIDI connectivity. You can connect them directly to a computer or mobile device for recording or using drum software. This feature is consistent across brands like LEKATO, Donner, and AiJoy, ensuring broad compatibility with digital audio workstations.
Which kit has the largest number of internal sounds?
The Donner DED-200 offers the most extensive sound library with 450 sounds. The Donner DED-70 provides 150 sounds. Most other models in this list do not specify a sound count in their published data, making the DED-200 the clear choice for variety.
Is there a fully mesh cymbal option available?
The Donner DED-200 is the only model explicitly described as having a complete all-mesh package. It includes three mesh cymbals alongside its five mesh pads. Other alternatives like the LEKATO CPD-1000 use low-volume cymbals that may not be fully mesh, depending on the specific pad construction.
