How each alternative compares
AKLOT 9-Piece Expanded Electric Drum Set
The AKLOT 9-piece set expands your pad count to nine, adding a triple-zone ride cymbal and a two-piece hi-hat. This layout offers more dynamic control than the Behringer XD80USB’s eight-piece configuration. It includes a white finish and measures 55.1 inches long. The kit targets players who need deep sound customization and USB-MIDI connectivity for production. While the Behringer provides a straightforward LCD interface, the AKLOT focuses on editing tools and a professional layout. You trade the Behringer’s ready-to-rock simplicity for greater acoustic range and modular flexibility.
Yamaha Rydeen 5-Piece Drum Set with 20" Bass Drum
The Yamaha Rydeen 5-piece set is a traditional acoustic kit, not an electronic one. It features a 20-inch bass drum and genuine Yamaha hardware in a champagne glitter finish. Unlike the Behringer XD80USB, it lacks USB connectivity, sound modules, and digital presets. This kit suits beginners who want reliable acoustic practice without electronic features. It measures 29.9 inches long and 21.9 inches high. You give up silent practice and software integration for authentic acoustic sound and build quality. It is a solid choice if you prefer wood shells over mesh pads.
Yamaha Rydeen 5pc Shell Pack 20" Bass Drum
The Yamaha Rydeen 5pc Shell Pack is another acoustic option, available in black glitter. It includes a 20-inch bass drum and fusion-sized shells. This kit weighs 59.5 pounds, significantly heavier than the Behringer XD80USB’s 37 pounds. It does not include any electronic components, USB ports, or sound modules. You cannot connect it to virtual instruments or drum software. This set fits players building a traditional kit from scratch who prefer wood shells. It lacks the digital features and silent practice capabilities of the Behringer, making it suitable only for acoustic environments.

The kit includes USB MIDI and USB audio connectivity, allowing for direct recording. It provides 415 samples, offering more variety than the Behringer’s 10 factory presets. However, it has only 10 preset kits, limiting deep customization. This kit suits players who need a balance of portability and sound quality. You gain audio recording capabilities and a compact form factor, trading the Behringer’s larger LCD screen for enhanced connectivity options.
Roland TD-02K Compact V-Drums Kit
The Roland TD-02K is a compact V-Drums kit designed for limited spaces. It measures 27.6 inches square and weighs only 1 pound, making it highly portable. The kit features authentic V-Drums sound and guided practice tools. It lacks the Behringer XD80USB’s large LCD interface and icon-driven user interface. Instead, it focuses on space-saving design and professional sound quality. This set fits beginners who need a compact solution without sacrificing Roland’s reputation for durability.
