How alternatives compare to Ashthorpe

Ktaxon 22 in 5-Piece Full-Size Blue Drum Set

The Ktaxon set offers a full-size acoustic kit with poplar shells, similar to the Ashthorpe. However, it weighs only 11 pounds, making it significantly lighter than the 95-pound Ashthorpe. This lighter weight suggests a simpler hardware setup or fewer included accessories. The Ktaxon includes a height-adjustable throne, which the Ashthorpe also provides. You get a complete 5-piece configuration with standard drum dimensions. This option suits players who prioritize portability or easier setup over the premium brass cymbals and genuine Remo heads found in the Ashthorpe. It is a practical choice for those wanting a straightforward, lighter full-size kit.

Ashthorpe 5-Piece Full Size Adult Drum Set

This Ashthorpe model is another 5-piece full-size set, but it weighs 91 pounds, slightly less than the 95-pound original. It also features genuine Remo heads and brass cymbals, matching the original's focus on quality components. The primary difference is the model number and slight weight variance, which may indicate minor hardware or shell construction differences. It includes a full hardware package and stands, just like the original. If you want the same premium Remo heads and brass cymbals but prefer a slightly different configuration or finish, this is a viable alternative. It is ideal for adult players seeking the same acoustic quality with a comparable complete package.
