6 Best Alternatives to the Arborea Viking B10 Drum Cymbal (2026)

How each alternative compares

Arborea Low Volume 5-Piece Cymbal Pack

The Arborea Low Volume pack targets apartment drummers who need to reduce noise. It keeps the five-piece count but uses practice pads instead of standard bronze. You get a 20-inch ride and a 16-inch crash, along with smaller sizes. The silver finish differs from the Viking’s look. You sacrifice tonal complexity and acoustic response for volume control. This option suits beginners who prioritize quiet practice over the bright, lathed sound of the original B10 bronze set. It is a practical swap if your main constraint is decibel levels rather than traditional cymbal feel.

Evans dB Low Volume Cymbal Pack

The Evans dB pack offers quiet practice with a natural feel, covering the same 14 to 20-inch range. It weighs 12.6 pounds and measures 20.9 inches wide. Unlike the B10’s bronze alloy, this is a specialized low-volume solution. You get a complete set without the acoustic brightness of lathed bronze. The package includes learning resources, which the Arborea does not list. You trade the traditional B10 sound for reduced noise and a focused practice experience. This choice fits drumers needing a compact, quiet setup that maintains a realistic physical response, rather than the standard acoustic tone of the Viking.

Meinl Classics Custom Dark Crash Pack

The Meinl Classics Custom Dark Crash Pack focuses on German craftsmanship for dark-toned crashes. It weighs 16.9 pounds and measures 22.2 inches wide. This set targets rock, metal, and fusion players rather than beginners. You get powerful, focused effects instead of the bright, clear response of the B10. The dark finish contrasts with the Viking’s standard look. You sacrifice the complete 14-20 inch beginner range for specialized crash tones. This option suits musicians who need high-energy performance cymbals. It is a premium alternative for those who have moved past the basic setup provided by the Arborea Viking B10 pack.

Sabian B8X Performance Set Plus

The Sabian B8X Performance Set Plus provides a full bronze set for acoustic drummers. It weighs 16.9 pounds and includes traditional bronze sound. The pack offers a full range of tones, differing from the B10’s specific B10 alloy focus. You get included learning resources, which the Arborea does not mention. The bronze color matches traditional aesthetics. You trade the compact, affordable nature of the Viking for a heavier, more expensive acoustic setup. This choice suits players who want a comprehensive acoustic experience. It is a significant step up from the B10 for those transitioning to or maintaining a full acoustic drum kit.

Zildjian S Dark 5-Piece Cymbal Pack

The Zildjian S Dark 5-Piece Cymbal Pack delivers a darker, complex tone with explosive response. It weighs 19.4 pounds and features a multi-color finish. This set offers versatility and standard sizes, similar to the B10 count. You get a darker profile instead of the bright, lathed response of the Viking. The model SD4680 indicates a specific professional series. You trade the beginner-friendly affordability for a premium, versatile sound. This option fits players seeking tonal depth and explosive dynamics. It is a strong alternative for drummers who find the B10 too bright or simple for their musical style.

Zildjian L80 Low Volume Cymbal Pack

The Zildjian L80 Low Volume Pack delivers 80% noise reduction for quiet practice. It is a compact three-piece set, differing from the B10’s five-piece count. The gold finish contrasts with the Viking’s look. You get a focused low-volume solution instead of a full acoustic range. The set weighs 8.3 pounds, making it lighter than the original. You sacrifice the complete 14-20 inch variety for a compact, quiet experience. This choice suits drummers needing a small footprint for low-volume environments. It is a practical alternative if your primary goal is noise reduction rather than the full tonal range of the B10 bronze pack.
