7-Piece vs 3-Piece Drum Set Specs
Target Audience
The Behringer BC1200 is a professional microphone set designed for recording acoustic drums, not a drum kit itself. It lacks a specified target audience for players. The Music Alley 3-Piece set is explicitly built for kids and beginners. Its compact size and scaled-down components suit young drummers learning coordination and timing. If you are looking for an instrument to start playing, the Music Alley kit is the clear choice for its intended user base.
Pad Count
The Music Alley 3-Piece set features a three-piece configuration, including a bass drum, snare, and tom. This setup provides a complete, functional junior kit for beginners. The Behringer BC1200 is a microphone set with no drum pads. It contains four tom/snare mics, two cymbal mics, and a kick mic. It does not offer any playable surfaces or electronic pads. For actual drumming practice, the Music Alley kit provides the necessary physical components.
Form Factor
The Music Alley kit is described as compact, with dimensions of 29.5 inches in width and 25.6 inches in both height and length. This small footprint is designed for bedrooms, playrooms, and music lessons. The Behringer BC1200 is a microphone set with dimensions of 18 inches in length, 13.9 inches in width, and 5.2 inches in height. While smaller in volume, it is not a drum form factor. Included Accessories
The Music Alley 3-Piece set includes a bass pedal, drum throne, and drum sticks, providing a complete playing experience out of the box. The Behringer BC1200 includes accessories for microphone setup, such as stands and cables, but no musical instruments. If you need a full setup for playing, the Music Alley kit provides the essential hardware for a beginner. The Behringer set requires additional equipment to function as a recording tool.
Build Material
The Music Alley kit is crafted from wood and metal, featuring tunable drum heads for an authentic feel. It is designed as a real instrument rather than a toy. The Behringer BC1200 is a microphone set, so its build involves metal and plastic components for audio capture. It does not have drum heads or wooden shells.
