How alternatives compare to VBDEFRT
AODSK Quiet Mesh Electronic Drum Set
The AODSK UAED-403 uses mesh pads instead of the VBDEFRT’s rubber or hybrid surfaces, providing a more realistic drumming feel. It includes 450 sounds, slightly fewer than the VBDEFRT’s 480, but offers a complete ready-to-play kit with sticks. Weighing 39.1 pounds, it is lighter than the VBDEFRT’s 46.3 pounds. This model suits beginners who want a quiet, full setup without buying extra accessories. The low-volume cymbals and USB MIDI connection match the original’s connectivity options. If you prioritize pad texture and included hardware over a folding frame, this is a strong alternative for home practice.
KEYIVOX 9pc Electric Drum Set with Mesh Pads
The KEYIVOX MTC20 features mesh pads and a compact frame, making it significantly lighter at 26.5 pounds compared to the VBDEFRT’s 46.3 pounds. It offers 150 sounds, which is fewer than the VBDEFRT’s 480, but provides a complete, quiet setup ideal for beginners. Its dimensions are 19.7 by 27.8 by 7.87 inches, ensuring it fits easily in small spaces. Like the original, it includes USB MIDI connectivity for practice with apps or computers. This kit is best for players who need a portable, space-saving solution with a realistic mesh feel, sacrificing some sound variety for easier storage and transport.
Ktaxon Compact Electric Drum Kit
The Ktaxon KT-KEDK-722 is designed for silent practice in small spaces, weighing 26.5 pounds, much less than the VBDEFRT’s 46.3 pounds. It features a compact form factor that prioritizes portability over the VBDEFRT’s folding design. While specific sound counts are not listed, it includes USB MIDI connectivity for digital practice. This kit is ideal for beginners who value a lightweight, easy-to-store setup. It gives up the extensive 480 sounds and expandable cymbal interface of the VBDEFRT in favor of a simpler, more compact frame. If you need a drum set that fits on a small desk or in a tight corner, this compact option is practical.
KONIX ED01 Tabletop Drum Set with 7 Pads
The KONIX ED01 is a tabletop drum set with seven pads, weighing only 7.25 pounds, which is drastically lighter than the VBDEFRT’s 46.3 pounds. It is designed for portability and travel, offering USB MIDI connectivity for practice. This kit lacks the full-sized layout and heavy-duty pedals of the VBDEFRT, making it unsuitable for serious acoustic-style practice. However, it is perfect for beginners or adults who need a space-saving tool that fits on a desk. You trade the 480 sounds and expandable options for extreme portability. If you need a quiet practice pad that travels easily, this compact solution is the best alternative.
AiJoy E-10001 5-Drum Mesh Kit with 3 Cymbals
The AiJoy E-10001 includes three low-volume cymbals and mesh pads, offering a complete beginner package with included sticks. It weighs 37.5 pounds, slightly less than the VBDEFRT’s 46.3 pounds. The set provides a quiet, realistic feel with USB MIDI connectivity, matching the original’s digital features. It gives up the folding design and 480 sound variety of the VBDEFRT in favor of a fixed, full-size layout. This kit is best for players who prioritize a quiet, complete setup with mesh pads over portability. If you want a realistic drumming experience with included accessories and do not need to fold your kit for storage, this is a solid choice.
TIDISO Full Size Electronic Drum Set
The TIDISO ASS-4 is a full-size electronic drum set with Bluetooth connectivity, a feature the VBDEFRT lacks. It weighs 58 pounds, significantly heavier than the VBDEFRT’s 46.3 pounds, and does not fold for storage. This kit offers a complete acoustic-style experience with five cymbals and an independent kick tower. It targets players with ample space who want a realistic setup with modern wireless features. You trade the VBDEFRT’s 480 sounds and folding convenience for Bluetooth support and a larger, more permanent frame. If you have room for a full-sized kit and value Bluetooth connectivity over portability, this is the best alternative.
