The Pearl Roadshow 5-Piece Rock Drum Set offers a complete kit with poplar shells and double-braced hardware. If you are searching for pearl roadshow drum set 5 piece alternatives, you might want a different size or brand. The Roadshow includes a 22-inch bass drum and two floor toms, which suits many players. However, its 56-pound weight and specific dimensions may not fit every space or player. Some drummers prefer a lighter kit or a different shell material. Others might need a smaller footprint for a home studio.
The alternatives listed here were chosen because their specifications overlap with the original. Each option shares the five-piece configuration but varies in drum dimensions and included accessories. You can find compact kits for younger beginners or full-size sets for adults. Some models include all necessary hardware, while others require you to add stands. By comparing these specs, you can find a set that matches your exact needs without compromising on quality or completeness.
How alternatives compare to Pearl Roadshow
VEVOR 5-Piece 16 in Kids Drum Set
The VEVOR 5-Piece 16-inch Kids Drum Set targets young beginners who need a compact kit. It uses poplar shells and includes a full cymbal setup with an adjustable throne, similar to the Pearl Roadshow. However, it is significantly smaller, weighing only 37.5 pounds compared to the Roadshow’s 56 pounds. The dimensions are tighter, measuring 17.7 inches wide and 15.8 inches high. You get included sticks and a blue finish. This option sacrifices adult-sized playing space for a manageable footprint. It is a practical choice if the Pearl Roadshow is too large for your child or small practice area.
Donner EDS-220 14-Inch 5-Piece Junior Drum Kit
The Donner EDS-220 14-Inch Junior Drum Kit is a compact starter set designed for young beginners. It features poplar shells and two cymbals, mirroring the Roadshow’s acoustic approach. At 22 pounds, it is much lighter than the Pearl Roadshow’s 56 pounds. The kit includes a load-rated throne, but you must assemble it yourself. The fixed toms and smaller 14-inch pad size limit its range compared to the Roadshow’s full-size configuration. It offers a Metallic Black finish and a 5-piece count. This set is ideal if you need a space-saving solution for a young player who does not yet require a full-size adult kit.
VEVOR 5-Piece 22-Inch Full Size Adult Drum Set
The VEVOR 5-Piece 22-Inch Full Size Adult Drum Set provides full-size dimensions for adult beginners. It shares the poplar shell construction and 22-inch bass drum size with the Pearl Roadshow. However, it weighs 66.1 pounds, making it heavier than the Roadshow. The kit includes sticks and a height-adjustable throne, but it ships unassembled. You keep a small cymbal setup, similar to the Roadshow’s included hardware. The silver finish and larger footprint suit adult players. This option is a solid alternative if you want a complete adult-sized kit but prefer a different brand or color scheme than the Pearl Roadshow’s Jet Black finish.
Yamaha Rydeen 5-Piece 20" Bass Drum Kit
The Yamaha Rydeen 5-Piece 20-inch Bass Drum Kit delivers a compact shell pack with poplar shells. It differs from the Pearl Roadshow by focusing on a 20-inch bass drum rather than a 22-inch one. The kit weighs 59.8 pounds and features a Turquoise Glitter finish. It is a solid choice if you already own cymbals and stands, as it emphasizes the shell pack quality. The Yamaha hardware is reliable. This option gives up the complete all-in-one convenience of the Roadshow. It is best for drummers who want to customize their cymbal setup or prefer a slightly smaller bass drum size for a tighter kit footprint.
Ktaxon 22 Inch 5-Piece Full Size Drum Set
The Ktaxon 22-inch 5-Piece Full Size Drum Set offers full-size poplar shells and a 22-inch bass drum, matching the Pearl Roadshow’s core dimensions. It weighs less, with no listed weight in the data, but includes a pedal, stool, and sticks. Unlike the Roadshow, you need to add cymbal stands and assemble it yourself. The black finish is standard. This kit provides a similar acoustic experience but requires more effort to set up. It is a good alternative if you are comfortable with assembly and want a full-size poplar kit from a different manufacturer, accepting the trade-off of missing included cymbals and stands.
Donner DDS-520 5-Piece 22-Inch Acoustic Drum Kit
The Donner DDS-520 5-Piece 22-inch Acoustic Drum Kit is a full-size option for adult beginners seeking quiet practice. It features poplar shells and a 22-inch bass drum, similar to the Pearl Roadshow. However, it weighs 99 pounds, making it significantly heavier. The kit includes practice cymbals, differing from the Roadshow’s standard cymbals. It is designed for stable, quiet-ready acoustic performance. You get a black finish and full-size dimensions. This option sacrifices electronic features for traditional build quality. It is ideal if you want a robust acoustic kit for home practice and prefer a quieter setup than the standard Roadshow configuration.
