The AODSK 5-Piece 14" Jr. Drum Set provides a compact layout for young beginners learning basic rhythm. If you are researching aodsk 5 piece 14 jr drum alternatives, this guide compares models with similar specifications. The original kit features a 14" x 10" bass drum, an 8" x 4" snare, two mounted toms, a 12" x 8" floor tom, brass cymbals, and poplar shells. It includes a throne and sticks, forming a 38-pound package for small practice spaces.
You may want a different kit if you need larger drum sizes, alternative colors, or another brand. Several alternatives offer 16-inch bass drums for players ages 6 to 13, while others provide full-size adult dimensions. The 6 alternatives on this list were chosen because their specs overlap with the original AODSK drum set. Each option shares five-piece layouts, wood shells, and essential starter hardware to fit your playing needs.
How Each Alternative Compares
NUOSHENG 16 in 5-Piece Kids Drum Set
The NUOSHENG 16 in 5-Piece Kids Drum Set steps up to a 16-inch configuration compared to the 14-inch bass drum on the AODSK kit. It features poplar wood shells, PET heads, starter cymbals, sticks, and an adjustable throne. This larger setup suits young players aged 2 to 9 who need slightly more playing surface. However, it lists starter cymbals rather than the brass cymbals documented on the AODSK. You also lose the specific multi-color options available on the original kit, as this unit comes in blue. Choose this kit if you want a 16-inch starter frame for children up to age 9.
Wiseek 5-Piece 16" Kids Drum Set
The Wiseek 5-Piece 16" Kids Drum Set provides a 16-inch drum layout targeted at players aged 6 to 13, whereas the AODSK uses a smaller 14-inch bass drum setup. The Wiseek kit includes poplar shells, two starter cymbals, drumsticks, and an adjustable throne. At 37.5 pounds, it weighs slightly less than the 38-pound AODSK. It occupies package dimensions of 17.7 inches long, 15.7 inches wide, and 21.7 inches high. You give up the brass cymbal specification of the AODSK for standard starter cymbals. Pick the Wiseek kit if you need a 16-inch layout tailored for drummers up to age 13.
VEVOR 5-Piece 16 in Kids Drum Set
The VEVOR 5-Piece 16 in Kids Drum Set expands to a 16-inch size profile, giving you a wider setup than the 14-inch AODSK bass drum foundation. It features poplar shells, starter cymbals, and drumsticks. The total weight is 37.5 pounds, which is half a pound lighter than the 38-pound AODSK kit. Its listed dimensions are 21.7 inches long, 17.7 inches wide, and 15.8 inches high. You give up the factory-specified brass cymbals and 8-inch hi-hat on the AODSK, as VEVOR includes basic starter cymbals and requires full assembly. Choose VEVOR if you prioritize a 16-inch shell size over included brass cymbals.
The Best Choice Products 5-Piece Kids Drum Set offers an all-black finish with wood shells and a glossy exterior. At 45 pounds, this set is heavier and sturdier than the 38-pound AODSK. Its dimensions measure 22 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 33 inches high, providing a slightly taller profile than the 30-inch-high AODSK frame. What you give up is the brass cymbal pack and the four distinct finish choices offered by AODSK, since this model only comes in black with starter cymbals. Choose this kit if you prefer a heavier, taller junior drum set with a uniform black appearance.
The LeSage 16 in 5-Piece Kids Drum Set increases the shell format to 16 inches, making it larger than the 14-inch AODSK kit. Built with poplar shells and an adjustable throne, it caters to beginners aged 6 to 13. It weighs 39 pounds, which is one pound heavier than the 38-pound AODSK. Package dimensions measure 18 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 22 inches high. You give up the pre-configured brass cymbals and hi-hat sizes of the AODSK, and you must assemble the hardware yourself. Pick the LeSage kit if you want a slightly heavier 16-inch setup built specifically for older children.
Gammon Percussion Full Size 5-Piece Adult Drum Set
The Gammon Percussion Full Size 5-Piece Drum Set shifts from a junior design to a full-size setup meant for adults. At 74 pounds, it weighs nearly double the 38-pound AODSK junior kit. Its dimensions measure 30 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 23 inches high, providing a true adult acoustic frame with full-scale stands, cymbals, throne, and sticks. You sacrifice the compact, space-saving 14-inch form factor that makes the AODSK manageable for young children and small rooms. Choose Gammon if you need an adult-scale acoustic five-piece kit rather than a junior-sized learning platform.
